CLUB WELFARE TEAM
Esmee and Nina are club Welfare Officers for Hastings Runners. The club welfare officers are there to ensure that the club fulfills its safeguarding duties to children and adults and to be a point of contact for issues relating to the wellbeing of club members, with the aim of fostering positive experiences and relationships within the club.
What does a welfare officer do? A club welfare officer is the person within a sports club with primary responsibility for safeguarding adults and children in the club. One of our roles is to make sure that people feel safe and included when they are running with the club, for example that they don’t get left behind on a run or in cases of bullying. We also put in place procedures to safeguard children and adults in the club, and if necessary, report safeguarding concerns to EA.
If something happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, please contact Esmee or Nina for assistance, so they can talk to you and work with you to address our concerns sensitively and promptly.
